HEALTH & SAFETY
The area of Mt. Halla, where Fjällräven Classic Korea is held, has a wild terrain of forest and mountain trails. Most vehicles cannot access this area, and it can lead to unexpected injuries or accidents. Additionally, you may encounter the highly changeable weather of Jeju Island during trekking, but you won't be alone.
In addition to having other trekkers around for assistance, all our checkpoints are staffed by health professionals. If you experience any medical issues during the trek, please contact the checkpoint-staff, as they should be able to help with most health concerns.
For insurance purposes, please note that only cases of medical emergencies will be documented. Other examinations, certificates, and insurance matters should be handled by your regular medical service at home.
Around 80% of the route of Fjällraven Classic Korea will have a reception. If you are lightly injured or in need of help, head to the nearest checkpoint for medical care. There will be helpers or ‘sweepers’ at the tail end of the trek who you can also ask for help. If it’s an emergency such as cardiac arrest or a bone fracture, you must immediately call 119 or Hallasan Trail Rescue Center for help. In case there is no reception, ask fellow trekkers to help you move to the closest location that has reception.
Fjällräven and its partners are not responsible for your whereabouts, so if you need assistance, it’s up to you to contact a Fjällräven official or seek independent help. Generally, there won’t be organized search and rescue for people who don’t reach the finish.
RULES
- We want to make sure Fjällräven Classic Korea is enjoyable for everyone and that the landscape looks as good as it does after the event as it does before.
