TREK Deep into the Colorado Backcountry

Discover the sprawling Arapaho Roosevelt National Forrest deep in the Colorado Rockies. It’s an expansive, wild, and untamed territory with dense pine forests, mountain passes, and secluded lakes. A high-altitude trek, you’ll cover 30.5 miles (49km) of spectacular nature alongside likeminded adventurers. This is what the backcountry is made of.

Start/Shuttle Drop Off -
Checkpoint 1

After a picturesque shuttle ride from Trekker’s Inn to Tolland, CO, the hike begins on the rugged Rollins Pass Wagon Trail. Continuing North on the trail, mile 5 brings you to Checkpoint 1, where you hop on the single-track Jenny Creek Trail.

Yankee Doodle Lake – Camp 1

"After descending into dense pine forest and a river crossing, climb steadily up to Yankee Doodle Lake for Camp 1.
Yankee Doodle Lake – Camp 1 -
Day 2

Rise and Shine! On Day 2 say goodbye to the beautiful Yankee Doodle Lake and hop on the Boulder Wagon Trail for a 1.8 mile ascent to tree line.
Day 2 -
Checkpoint 2

Battle the climb to the checkpoint and be rewarded with views of historic landmarks, the Continental Divide, and the surrounding Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest.
Checkpoint 2 -
Corona Lake

Continue your trek West through high alpine meadows and down into moose territory until you reach Corona Lake. Enjoy a dip in the lake, you deserve it!
Corona Lake -
Jenny Lake, Camp 2

Head back East toward the Continental Divide, reaching our max elevation of 11,800 ft. Descend just below tree line for camp 2 at the secluded Jenny Lake.

Checkpoint 3

Wake up and finish off the trek with an easy 11 mile decent back into Tolland, CO.

Finish/Shuttle Pick Up
