Trek the fells and valleys of the Lake District
Follow in the footsteps of bygone shepherds and pack ponies as you trek 50 km into the high fells, mountain passes, and deep valleys of England's Lake District. Walking riverside paths and through ancient woodlands, passing lakes and waterfalls, you'll encounter landmarks unique only to this area, including old packhorse routes and England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Exploring this area, you’ll notice the famous ‘four season weather’, as well as uneven terrain underfoot, including rocky portions, sections of boggy earth, and steep paths. These conditions, combined with about 2,160 m of elevation gain, may make the daily distances a little challenging. With some preparation beforehand, and a little perseverance, the trek to Muncaster Castle by the sea is a uniquely cultural and scenic experience.
