What’s Included in Your Ticket
- Fjällräven Classic Sweden is about experiencing the mountains in a simple and responsible way. We take care of much of the logistics so you can focus on the journey.
- Bus transfer from Kiruna Airport and Kiruna train station to check-in at Högalidsskolan
- Bus transfer from Kiruna to the start in Nikkaluokta
- Transport of one bag (max. 60 litres / 20 kg) from Kiruna or Nikkaluokta to Abisko (Bags exceeding 60 litres / 20 kg will incur an additional charge)
- A route map (1:75,000) with protective cover
- A Trekking Passport to be stamped at all checkpoints, including start and finish
- Stove fuel, gas with standard screw thread EN 417; petrol or alcohol (please bring your own refill container for liquid fuel)
- Freeze-dried meals and bread for the trek
- An orange safety cover for your backpack (distributed at the start)
- A Fjällräven Classic trash bag, all waste must be carried out
- One roll of toilet paper (no additional paper is available along the trail)
- A Fjällräven Classic Sweden patch and pin at the finish in Abisko
Travel
Fjällräven Classic Sweden begins in Nikkaluokta, and check-in takes place at Högalidsskolan in Kiruna. To ensure a smooth start on your trek, we strongly recommend arriving at least one day before your scheduled bus depature to the start.
Getting to Kiruna
- Train & Bus – Tickets available via SJ.
- Flights – Operated by SAS and Norwegian.
- Car – If arriving by car, we recommend parking in Kiruna to avoid returning to Nikkaluokta after finishing the trek. Parking information is available via Kiruna Municipality.
Kiruna to the Start
- Buses depart from Högalidsskolan in Kiruna to Nikkaluokta.
- You must travel on the bus depaturing on the time stated on your ticket.
- This bus transfer is included in your event ticket.
Abisko to Kiruna
After completing the hike in Abisko, there are several transport options back to Kiruna or onward to your next destination.
Bus Transfer to Kiruna
After completing your trek, we offer a specially organized event transfer from Abisko STF and Abisko Mountain Lodge to Kiruna city centre and Kiruna Airport. This service is available from Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14. The price is 300 SEK per person and is not included in your event ticket.
The travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Kiruna city centre and around 1 hour and 45 minutes to Kiruna Airport. Please note that tickets are limited and can be purchased online after you have completed the trek.
The schedule for this bus transfer is planned so that the bus arrives at Kiruna Airport well in time for all flights to Stockholm. If you are flying from Kiruna after the trek, you will be able to take the bus to the airport without having to worry about arriving on time.
In a few weeks, you will be able to book a seat on the bus. However, if you are more spontaneous, you will also be able to purchase your ticket on site in Abisko.

Accommodation
There are several accommodation options to choose from during your Fjällräven Classic Sweden experience. In Kiruna, where registration takes place, you’ll find a wide range of hotels and hostels in different price categories to suit your needs.
In Nikkaluokta, near the starting point, accommodation options are more limited but available for those who wish to stay close to the trailhead. At the finish in Abisko, you’ll also find various lodging options. Please note that August is high season in northern Sweden so we strongly recommend booking your accommodation well in advance.
