What’s included in the ticket price?
We want to make it simple for you to enjoy nature so we'll take care of the logistics. Your ticket includes the following:
Transport & Camping
- Bus transfer (more details coming soon)
- Secure bag storage for anything you don’t want to carry with you on the trek
- Camping at start and finish line
Equipment
- A waterproof map of the route
- A trekking passport to be stamped at all checkpoints. This is important for your safety on the trek
- Freeze dried food for the trek. These will be given out at basecamp. Additional freeze-dried meals will be available at Wasdale campsite
- Fuel (primus gas cannister with a standard screw thread)
- An orange safety cover for your backpack. This helps us identify you as a Fjällräven Classic participant and makes you more visible in an emergency.
- A roll of loo paper
- A toilet bag – in case you get caught out on the trail
- A Fjällräven trashbag, so you can carry out all your trash. You are responsible for taking all waste with you—it must not be left along the trail or at checkpoints. Bins will be provided at the campsites.

Travel Information
For Fjallraven Classic UK 2026 we have updated the location of the registration and basecamp the night before the trek. Everything is now situated at the Great Langdale Campsite (walking distance from the start line) The trek is a linear route and finishes at Muncaster Castle.
Travel to the Start
Whether you are travelling to Fjällräven Classic UK by public transport or by car, there are several options for getting to and from the start and the finish.

By Train
If you travel by public transport, we recommend Oxenholme Train Station as your destination. From there, we offer a free Classic Bus Service to the start point at Great Langdale. The buses leave from the station the day before the trek begins on Monday 14 September at 10am / 12pm / 2pm.

By Public Bus
Bus number 516 runs between Ambleside and Great Langdale Campsite. It is operated by Stagecoach. There are direct buses to Ambleside linking you to Keswick, Grasmere, Coniston, Windermere, Bowness, Kendal and Lancaster. www.stagecoachbus.com
By Car
If you arrive by car, we highly recommend that you park by the finishing point at Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass, CA18 1RQ.
From Muncaster we offer a free Classic Bus Service to the starting point at Great Langdale. The bus leaves Muncaster Castle on Monday 14 September at 1pm.

Please be aware that we don’t provide parking in Langdale or a shuttle back to Langdale.
Travel from the Finish
After completing the trek, the Fjällräven Classic bus will drive from the finishing point at Muncaster Castle to Oxenholme Train Station on Friday 18 September at 5am / 10am / 12pm.

Accommodation
Before the hike starts, you are welcome to stay at the Fjallraven Classic Base Camp at Great Langdale Campsite. It is free to stay on Sunday 13th and Monday 14th September. The campsite is only 10 minutes’ walk from two good pubs which serve food and drink. You can book your place at the campsite at the start and finish via a link in the first newsletter.
At the Fjallraven Classic Base Camp:
- Event Registration
- Workshops and talks on flora and fauna of the area, local traditions, route finding and navigation
- Meet other participants
- Get a good night’s sleep and be completely ready to begin your hike the next day
The trek start is at Great Langdale Campsite at 9am.
For those staying in different parts of the valley, the 516 public bus service travels up the valley from Ambleide and stops at the campsite entrance www.stagecoachbus.com
