Greetings, I’m Ian! Put simply, I specialize in safely getting teams from point a to point b in unforgiving conditions. Recognized by The Explorers Club, I’ve received the “New Explorers Award” for my paleontological mapping expedition in Mongolia. I have successfully brought teams across mountains, and deserts, as well as the streets of Hollywood, and New York City. Despite my upbringing in the concrete jungle of NYC, I have extensive outdoor training and became a Wilderness EMT, while holding many other emergency management certifications. As a guide for an NYC based adventure hike company, I learned the inner workings of how to lead a successful team. Through many expeditions and adventures, I have honed my ability to manage logistics and create everything from Himalayan adventures to photo shoots. I achieved my Triple Crown of hiking, having completed the Appalachian, Pacific Crest, and Continental Divide Trails; nearly 8,000 miles spanning over a total of 22 states. When I finished, there were less people to have accomplished this feat than number of people that have been in space. Serving as Executive Director for The Dusty Camel, I am well versed in planning and consulting for all types of expeditions. I lived in Bhutan for nearly two years working on an expedition called The King's Challenge. Conceptualized by the King of Bhutan, and carried out by his brother, Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck. I served as Director of Logistics of the Andrews Centennial Expedition. This was a three week journey through the Gobi Desert of Mongolia, equipped with multi-spectral and VR image capturing tools where 250 new paleontological locations and three potential new species were discovered. The entire team was awarded the Citation of Merit by The Explorers Club. When not off on adventures and expeditions, I produce photo shoots for Hollywood based Photobomb Production, a full service production company with top clients being Coca-Cola, Victoria's Secret, Anthropologie, Martini, and many more. Using this experience, I am now melding my passion for the outdoors with my production experience to produce off-grid content with most recent photo shoots being hosted on top of glaciers in remote locations of Alaska.

  1. What aspect of being in nature is most important to you?
  2. Nature allows us to better understand the world around us, and become more in tune with the way we are meant to live our lives; with balance and harmony.

  3. Tell us about your favorite adventure
  4. The Snowman Trek in Bhutan was my first high-altitude adventure hiking 200 miles through the Himalaya's visiting areas seldom seen by people near or far.

  5. Who do you enjoy spending the day out with?
  6. Anyone who can tell a good story that! Unless they have four legs, they are equally welcome.

  7. Do you have any favorite quote or words of wisdom that you often use or like specifically
  8. From a commercial when I was a teenager: 'If your life were a book, would anyone want to read it?'
