Maëlys’ mother put her on skis at the age of three, and since then she has had a love affair with snow, ice and the white landscapes of winter. Always eager to go out of her comfort-zone, Maelys went to northern Quebec at 19-years old and got a real taste of what life in the Arctic could be like. From minus-30 temperatures to the northern lights, three years later she still can remember the tingling sensation a freezing wind causes on the cheeks (and the joy it brings). Unsurprisingly, she hopes to one day work at the base of the south pole in Antarctica. Until then, Maëlys continues to spend a lot of time in nature; sleeping outside, swimming in cold water, and returning to Quebec to relearn walking on slippery ice. New to scuba diving, she just finished prototyping a waste bag for divers to use while under water.
