Nature is and has always been a part of me. It lives and breathes within my blood and bones. Growing up in small towns close to nature, I played in the creeks - barefoot and wild. In these creeks is where nature and I became friends. Little did I know how much I would rely on this intimate friend later on in life. In my early adolescent years, I was diagnosed with a chronic pain disease to which I found difficult to treat. I re-connected into my: what I knew best and re-found my comforting companion with nature ultimately educating and nourishing myself to good health. It is because of this earthly practice, after a few years, that I am now able to live a fulfilling and almost pain free life. Since then, I continue with my studies ensuring a formal education in botanical properties and plant biology. In addition to my studies as one half of my practice, the other half is aimed to wake up and connect people intimately with their own personal relationship to nature through plant based medicines, ritual, and awareness. It’s important for me to highlight that we are not only a part of nature but that we play a part in nature, inherently. Although I share my knowledge to all different audiences, working with children is my absolute dream. I love imparting wisdom and sharing my knowledge with kids to help them understand their own personal connection with nature showing them that nature not only helps us, but that we all can help in return and continue live in natural rhythms with the earth. I truly believe that we are all inter-connected with our environment naturally, and now is the most relevant and important time to acknowledge and act on this. In addition to sharing my knowledge and other skills, I travel both regionally and globally to collaborate with other crafters and practitioners of the same belief within different cultures. As a group we share each other’s wisdom of taking care of nature and how nature takes care of us. Together we develop workshops where we teach kids skills and knowledge so that they can learn and apply this wisdom within their local communities instilling inspiration, curiosity, resilience and self-awareness.

Adventures, the great outdoors, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) all year round excites me (winter is my favourite season!) Learning new things, solo travelling and sharing unique experiences with friends feeds my constantly curious soul. As someone born and raised in Toronto/Tkaronto, Ontario, Canada, there's no shortage of incredible outdoor experiences here. From paddling the 2nd deepest inland lake in the world to paddling through a 200 ft high canyon, endless kilometres of hiking and skiing, countless campsites for all four seasons along beaches and deep within remote forests...there are just so many ways to enjoy nature! When I'm not road-tripping or out dipping my toes in one of the Great Lakes, you can find me: - Planning public events, including environmental literacy programs as a librarian at one of the busiest library systems in the world; - Gear reviewing and creating adventure recaps as a reporter for Get Out There Magazine; - Helping people get out on a paddleboard as a certified SUP instructor; - Hanging out with the Lake Surfistas, an all-women crew and community that aspires to bring together women of all abilities to celebrate surfing, SUP and SUP surfing, whether it's 32°F OR 32°C out! - Giving big hugs to my German Shepherds, Rex, Zoe and Grizzly. I believe in being the change you want to see in the world. Connect with me on Instagram or Twitter @only1phoenixx if you think so too, and to see what I'm SUP to! ;-)

Hi I’m Kieren and I love to dream of the ridiculous and make it a reality! Whether it’s cycling across Canada or converting a school bus into a full time home, there is nothing I enjoy more than testing the limits and learning more about myself! Growing up in the outdoors has crafted me into who I am today. Yet I still have hesitations, and self doubt. I’ve always wanted to create a place where everyone could learn and grow together, demolishing self doubt while building a community. Through The Lady Alliance, I have found my own healing and solace, friends and ‘framily’, and a love for life through adventure.

I live in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in Canada. I work as Nature Based Psychotherapist, Wilderness Guide and Sea Kayak Instructor and am a member of the Marine Search and Rescue. I love nature and people. I m interested in long distance sea kayaking and have circumnavigated the Haida Gwaii Archepelago and Vancouver Island as well as paddling from Skagway, Alaska to Pacific City, Oregon. I feel most alive and free when I m on the land or sea facing my greatest challenge: my self.

I am a world traveler. In my day to day I enjoy the time I have with my friends and family. Often we are taking advantage of what few sunny days we get in Vancouver. Yet, where I really come alive is on the road. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, and hearing their stories. I am a very curious person that is always on the hunt for learning something new. The curiosity and storytelling are what drive me to photography. I really want to share what I have learned about other cultures with my peers and want to encourage others to break their daly routines. If I am not off traveling, I am out in nature adventuring. In the summer, you can find me splitting my time between climbing and hiking. In the winter, I am off snowboarding and split-boarding. My one true love though is surfing, and it doesn’t matter if it is snowing or a bright sunny day. If there are waves I will be out in the water as long as possible. No matter how chaotic life can be, the ocean brings myself a calming reset and is quite humbling. As a photographer, I love to slow things down and am often shooting in analog. The intention behind the images, the methodical winding and unwinding of film are what do it for me. It keeps myself in the present moment when there are constant distractions in life.

As a recently certified Wim Hof Instructor and photography hobbyist, I’m constantly looking to capture people’s primal responses in harsher elements (cold exposure). I fundamentally believe our nervous systems are the most robust when it is exposed to shorter amounts of intense stress while also having a nourishing dose of recovery. This healthy stress can be found in nature and adventure which makes my current residence of Vancouver an ideal place to thrive. My passion for using and sharing the Wim Hof method as a means to optimize health comes from a 18 year journey with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a painful auto-immune condition. Seeing my dad’s spine fuse into a hunched back position while living most of his life in debilitating pain and chronic fatigue drove me to find solutions to live a higher quality of life. I spent time training with Wim in Spain, Poland, and in his home in the Netherlands. This journey would ultimately completely change my relationship with health and nature. I’ve seen many others who have experienced profound benefits and it’s something I feel strongly called to share. I also work as a Kinesiologist/Trainer. My niche clientele are those with nervous system related issues or those with chronic pain who have struggled in the past with traditional exercise routines. I’m always looking to connect with others in adventure, training or photography, so please reach out if you’re ever passing through!
