After about 5 km, you will reach a Sami settlement at Ladjújávri where "Lap Dånalds" serves reindeer burgers. Many hikers have enjoyed their last fresh meal here during their hike.
Andreas Sarri, who lives here, also offers a boat transport across the lake. It is perfectly fine to take the boat across Ladjújávri, and resting your legs while enjoying the approximately 6 km boat ride with a unique view of Kebnekaise from the lake is highly recommended. The boat ticket is not included in Fjällräven Classic and must be purchased on-site.
You can also take a small boat over the Alesjavri lake, operated by Roland Enoksson, which saves you about 4 km of hiking.
If you plan to summit Kebnekaise during your Fjällräven Classic participation, it's possible, but it will take a full day.
You are free to camp wherever you like during Fjällräven Classic Sweden, but we recommend camping beyond STF’s cabins. However, there’s one important exception: camping is prohibited within Abisko National Park, except at two designated spots.
The last 15 km of the trail runs through the national park, so make sure to plan ahead for your campsite. You may only camp or make a fire at designated campsites at Nissunjåkk (5 km south of Abisko Mountain Lodge) or at Abiskojaure huts (within the national park), where space is limited. If you wish to camp at Abiskojaure, you must pick up a camping permit at the Kieron checkpoint. If they are out, it means the Abiskojaure campsite is full, and you'll have to camp at Kieron or Nissunjåkk.
We provide you with a waste bag to collect your trash during the hike. It’s important that you use it. Under no circumstances is it allowed to leave trash along the trail, at checkpoints, cabins, or shelters. If you do, you will be disqualified. We want to keep the area natural and free from trash. Carry the bag all the way to the finish in Abisko. Weigh in your trash bag at the finish at Abisko Mountain Lodge, and you’ll receive a lottery ticket for our waste bag lottery.
You can withdraw from Fjällräven Classic Sweden at any time, but since this is trackless land, you will still need to walk back to Nikkaluokta or continue to Abisko. Please contact a volunteer at a checkpoint.
Waste Management
We provide you with a waste bag to collect your trash during the hike. It’s important that you use it. Under no circumstances is it allowed to leave trash along the trail, at checkpoints, cabins, or shelters. If you do, you will be disqualified. We want to keep the area natural and free from trash. Carry the bag all the way to the finish in Abisko. Weigh in your trash bag at the finish at Abisko Mountain Lodge, and you’ll receive a lottery ticket for our waste bag lottery.
Littering will result in disqualification and may be reported to the police.

At the Finish – Abisko Mountain Lodge
When you reach the finish at Abisko Mountain Lodge, you should:
  • Stamp your trekking pass
  • Collect your Fjällräven Classic medal
  • Retrieve your luggage
After Finishing
Trekker’s Inn – Enjoy food, drinks, and participate in the prize draw for those who have weighed in their trash bag.
Activities in Abisko – Explore slideshows, exhibitions, guided tours, and take the chairlift for a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
