Katie Baker
Fjällräven Polar Alumni
For five years, Katie had an important and difficult job: she was a 911 operator. Though her work was rewarding, she sacrificed her own well-being by absorbing the traumas of others. In nature, she has found a place where she has the freedom to explore happiness and can relearn how to live without fear. Through nature, her love of life is overcoming her fear of it, and through activities like hiking, cold training, and Fjällräven Polar she is finding out that she is indeed strong. With this appreciation for nature comes a commitment to protecting, and Katie does this by doing her part to clean up the 50 billion pieces of litter in the United States. Taking part in the #152andYou movement, she and fellow participants promote that if everyone in the United States picked up 152 pieces of litter, the country would be litter-free.
