A sense of connection with the natural world.
Doing a ski science expedition to Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic. We flew a Cessna 210 from Boulder, Colorado, all the way to Baffin Island over 5 days. Then we skied and worked on the Penny Ice Cap, one of the last remaining masses of ice from the last Ice Age, studying impacts of pollution on snow and ice melt. This trip had everything an adventurer could want from challenging weather, to equipment malfunctions, to a threat of polar bears showing up at any point, to camping out in harsh terrain.
My husband, Ricardo. We're hiking and climbing partners!
